Michael Godard Artwork

Back when I first started my website, I wanted to feature fine diamond and gemstone jewelry, but also fossils and artwork.  Since that time, I’ve downsized to gold and silver jewelry only, mainly because I wasn’t able to do justice to the fossils and artwork.

But my husband and I are collectors of different types of art, and one of our favorites (and also one of the first artists we started collecting) is Michael Godard.  He is one of the largest-selling, if not the largest, artist in the world today.  His pieces feature olives, grapes and strawberries in whimsical situations.  The beautiful detail and bright colors make these perfect for all areas of your home, particularly a bar, dining room, or family room.

Here’s a few from our collection:

This one is called Nervous Grapes.  If you look at it closely, you’ll see one of the grapes is walking the line for the police officer, and another is taking a breathalizer.  There’s cheese, a spilled wine bottle, well you get the picture!

Unfortunately, I do a pretty lousy job of taking pictures of paintings–I have a very difficult time avoiding glare, and you will see glare on all of these, because I just snapped the pictures of them right on the wall (it’s to the right on this one in case you’re wondering if that’s a snow storm or something!).

This one, I Smell A Rat, which features a mob boss, his dame, and an olive begging for his life, presumably, plus the olive with the guitar (gun) case and a few other scenarios (including the rat to the far right)–basically the stereotypical portrait of the mob, only done with olives:

This one is a rare piece called Party Foul–it’s pretty self-explanatory:

We have a few more–I’ll feature them in an upcoming blog.  In the meantime, if you’re interested and want to know more about Michael Godard, visit the website.

And as always, visit Northwest Jewelry for great deals on fine diamond and gemstone jewelry!

I love your photographs — makes me want to get away to a body of water, though I’m content being an armchair traveler and viewing them via your site.

The Michael Godard art is wonderful. I wasn’t familiar with his work but love his sense of humor, and that there’s so much going on in which to lose yourself!
