Because of Rick’s precast concrete business, we’re so busy in the spring, summer and fall that we don’t take any vacations other than weekends away to the beach or casino (or both!). In the winter, though, we try to take a couple of week-long vacations.
We on our second vacation of the winter now. We’re in Kauai, the garden island of the Hawaiian islands. Just got in last night, so haven’t had much time to explore.
I did get a chance to take a couple of pictues this morning, though. This is our view from the room–we’re on the ground floor–I just opened the patio door and shot the pictures.
This first one is pretty dark:

We’re staying at our Worldmark timeshare. Worldmark shares occupancy with the Kapa’a Shores Resort Condominium–it’s an older condo in the most populated area of Kauai. (most populated being 20,000 people!)
It’s on the east side of the island about 15 minutes from the airport in Lihui. Today, we are going to explore the north side of the island and will post pictures later.
